Transitional Layering, the Sian Way
The space between seasons is where style lives. Learn to layer linen under merino, and summer weight under autumn tone, for a look that adapts from morning to evening.
The transitional months are the most interesting for a wardrobe — and the easiest to get wrong. The trick is layering fabrics with different weights and finishes so you can shed or add a layer as the day warms and cools.
Start with a breathable base like our Linen Blend Shirt, add a mid-weight layer such as the Merino Half-Zip, and finish with a light shell you can tie around your waist when the sun wins.
Colour matters too. Keep your base neutral and let one layer carry the tone of the season — olive, terracotta, or the deep burgundy of early autumn. This gives your outfit a focal point without looking overdressed.
Dressing for transition is really an exercise in flexibility. When you build your layers around movement and temperature, you stop dressing for the forecast and start dressing for the day.
